Markku Pölönen: is a Finnish film director, screenwriter, editor and owner of film production company Suomen Filmiteollisuus. Pölönen's best known work is the 2004 film Dog Nail Clipper — directed and written by Pölönen — which was honoured with five awards at the 2005 Jussi Awards including Best Direction and Best Script[1] and which film critic Jay Weissberg from Variety called Pölönen's "most mature work to date".[2] Pölönen has been awarded an additional four Jussi awards while being nominated for two more.

Markku Lappalainen: is the former bassist of the band Hoobastank. He was in the band from 1997 [1][2]until 2005. Why Markku left the band is not clear, although rumors were that he had severe back problem that left him in pain during live performances. He left after Hoobastank's 2005 summer tour. He has since been replaced by Josh Moreau. He currently owns a hair salon, avocado farm, and supermarket chain.[citation needed]

Markku Salminen: was a Finnish orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the relay event and finished 13th in the individual event at the 1968 World Orienteering Championships in Linköping.[1] In 1970 he finished 4th with the Finnish relay team.[1] In 1974 he finished 16th in the individual event, and received a silver medal in the relay with the Finnish team. In 1976 he finished 5th in the individual event, and received a bronze in the relay.[1]
