Nello Russo: an Italian football (soccer) striker. He is under contract with F.C. Crotone.Russo was sold to Lumezzane in a co-ownership deal during the summer of 2003. He was loaned to Crotone in the second half of 2004/05 season, and Crotone choose to buy him from Lumezzane. However, since his purchase, he has been loaned out to AlbinoLeffe, Spezia and Pescara.

Nello Lauredi: was a former professional French road bicycle racer. He was of Italian origin but in 1984 he changed nationality to France. He was a professional cyclist from 1949 until 1959 and had 17 wins. His most important win being three overall wins in the Dauphiné Libéré. Other wins included a stage in the 1950 Tour de France and in the 1952 Tour de France where he also wore the maillot jaune for 4 days.
