Nikolay Prokofyevich Fedorenko: was a Russian economist and chemist. He was the head of the "Central Economic Mathematical Institute"(CEMI) in Moscow from 1963 to 1985.His name is associated with an economic planning methodology used in the former Soviet Union and known as the System of Optimal Functioning of the Economy (SOFE). During the Soviet period SOFE was a controversial approach using mathematical planning methods in order to improve the central planning system. These methods were based on the idea of linear programming or "optimal planning", associated with L.V. Kantorovich. The SOFE approach was sharply criticized by some Marxist political economists, who saw the mathematical methods as being too close to Western economic approaches. They were afraid that Soviet political economy would disappear behind the mathematical formulas, and that Soviet economics would finally be assimilated into Western economics, which also uses mathematical formulas.

Lomonosov”, Russia(M.A in 1989), received his Ph.D in economics from the Bulgarian Academy of Science (1995). Nikolay Nenovsky is a Professor of Finance and taught monetary theory and International economics at the University of National and World Economy, Sofia. He is is affiliated to Laboratoire d’économie d’Orléans (LEO), since 2002 and to International Center for Economic Research (ICER), Torino, since 2006. In 1996 he joined the Bulgarian National Bank Research Department, where he engaged over the years in empirical and theoretical research, focusing on the monetary theory ans policy, and econometric methods and modeling. He was made head of the research department in 1997

Nikolay Nikolaevich Bogoliubov: was a Russian and Ukrainian mathematician and theoretical physicist known for a significant contribution to quantum field theory, statistical field theory, and dynamical systems; a recipient of the Dirac Prize (1992).Nikolay Bogoliubov was born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia in 1909. His family moved to Kiev in 1921, where after graduation from a high school he began an independent study of mathematics and physics and attended seminars at the Kiev University. In 1924 he wrote his first published scientific paper. In 1925 he entered Ph.D. program at the Academy of Science of Ukrainian SSR, from which he graduated in 1929.

He showed that a sufficient condition for a dynamical system to relax to equilibrium is for it to be mixing.Krylov was born in Ustyuzhna (now in Vologda Oblast of Russia). He graduated from Leningrad University with a degree in physics. He then studied with Fock and wrote a thesis on the foundations of statistical mechanics titled Mixing processes in phase space.
