Pieter "Piet" Wijdekop: was a Dutch sprint canoer who competed in the late 1930s. He won a bronze medal in the folding K-2 10000 m event with his younger brother Cees at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.The Wijdekop brothers were born in Amsterdam, where they were members of the canoe club De Plassers. In their honor, an international marathon canoe race up and down between Amsterdam and Purmerend, organized yearly until 2008, was named the Gebroeders Wijdekop Race.

Pieter Claude Bijleveld: was a Dutch politician and mayor.Bijleveld was a son of the Nijmegen mayor François Pierre Bijleveld and Reiniera Charlotte Rau. He studied law. In 1856 he was appointed mayor of Zaltbommel and in 1875 he succeeded his father as mayor of Nijmegen, a function he held until his death in 1898. Bijleveld was Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau.
