Wladyslaw J. Swiatecki: was a Polish inventor and airman.Swiatecki invented the slip bomb device, which he patented in 1926.The device was planned for the Karas light bomber but not used, though the device was handed over to the Polish Air Force before the war and used by other European air forces. Escaped from Poland in 1939 through Hungary, Yugoslavia and Italy to France (Paris) where he worked as engineer in military industry. Then, when France collapsed in June 1940, he escaped again, with his family, travelling to North Africa and then by ship to England. There he demonstrated his device to the Ministry of Aircraft Production. He went on to serve in the Royal Air Force as a Flight Lieutenant.

Wladyslaw Kowalski: was a Polish communist politician, who served as Sejm Marshal during first Sejm of the Communist Poland (1947 – 1952) and, ex officio, as the head of state (Acting President of the State National Council) for one day (February 4 – February 5, 1947). Wladyslaw Gizbert-Studnicki: a Polish politician and publicist.His political career started in late 19th century in the Socialist organization Proletariat, for which Russian authorities sent him to Siberia. After returning to Poland, he became activist of Polska Partia Socjalistyczna (Polish Socialist Party), but left it, choosing the national movement, in which he was the main ideologist. However, unhappy about pro-Russian program of the nationalists, deserted them and in 1904 wrote a book “From Socialism to Nationalism”, in which Studnicki explained reasons for change of his ideals.
