Wang Junxia: is a Chinese former long-distance.Her best years laid between 1992 and 1996. In 1992, she beat Ethiopian Gete Wami to win the world junior champion in 10,000 m (32:29.90) in Seoul, Korea. The golden but short glory came in 1993. In April, She set a world-leading time and former Asian best in marathon (2:24:07). In May, she broke the Asian record of 3000 m in a fast time of 8:27.68 in the Chinese National Championships. In August, Chinese women distance runners under coach Ma Junren stunned the world and swept the world titles from 1500 m to 10,000 m in Stuttgart, Germany. Wang claimed the world title in 10,000 m (30:49.30) although she was sick before the race. In less than a month, she went on to win the 3000 m and 10,000 m in Chinese National Games with 3 world records in 3 races. On September 8, she won the 10,000 m final in a world record of 29:31.78 which is faster than the former record by 42 seconds and also the first-ever sub-30 minute performance in this event. On September 11, She finished second in 1500 m behind her teammate, Qu Yunxia in another world record breaking race. Qu ran 3:50.46 (current world record) against Wang's 3:51.92, which still stands fourth in the all-time list. In 3000 m heats on September 12, Wang's teammates broke the 3000 m world record in the first heat. This world record was just briefly held when it was erased by Wang in the second heat. The next day when she claimed the 3000 m in another record time 8:06.11. She also won the World Cup Marathon Championships later in the year.

Kan-Chang Wang: was a nuclear physicist from China. He was one of the initiators of China's researches in nuclear physics, cosmic rays and particle physics. Wang Ganchang figured among the top leaders, pioneers and scientists of the Chinese nuclear deterrent program. Member of the Chinese Academy of Science, and member of the Chinese Communist party.In 1930, Wang first proposed to use a cloud chamber to study a new type of high-energy rays induced by the bombardment of beryllium with a particle, experiment conducted one year later by the English physicist James Chadwick, thus discovering a new type of particle, the neutron, allowing him to win the 1935 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Zhen-yi Wang: is a Chinese pathophysiologist and the Professor of Medicine and Pathophysiology at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SSMU) in Shanghai, China. A full professor at Shanghai Second Medical University before its amalgamation, from 1987 to 1996 he was Director of the Hematology Institute at Rai-Jin Hospital in Shanghai. His research has led to the improved survival of patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APML).

Yuja Wang: is a Chinese classical pianist. She was born in Beijing, began studying piano there at age six, and went on to study at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 1998, Wang won 3rd Prize in the Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists, in Ettlingen, Germany. In 2001, she won Third Prize and Special Jury Prize (awarded to an especially superior finalist of less than 20 years in age, prize money of 500,000 Japanese Yen) in the Piano Section at the First Sendai International Music Competition in Sendai, Japan.

Jin-Shan Wang: is a Chinese organic chemist. Wang is the current Zhi Yuan Chair Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Chemical Engineering. In 1989, Wang went to study in Belgium with Prof. Ph. Teyssie and obtained his doctorate degree with highest possible rank (avec la plus grande distinction et les felicitations du jury) from the University of Liège, Belgium, in 1993. Wang published more than 20 papers, mostly in Macromolecules, and obtained 12 issued US and European patents in the area of living polymerization from his four-years doctoral research work. Months before his departure to the United States to continue his research at the Carnegie Mellon University with Krzysztof Matyjaszewski in 1994, he started conceptualizing free-radical catalyzed living radical polymerization, after studying a series of published papers on free-anion catalyzed living anionic polymerization (also called group-transfer polymerization) of methacrylate and transition-metal / free-radical catalyzed atom (group)-transfer radical addition (ATRA). Shortly after arriving in Prof. Matyjaszewski's laboratories in 1994, Wang started to implement his ideas of applying the principle of atom (group)-transfer radical addition to living radical polymerization in the lab with self-made air- and oxygen-free mini-reactors. Wang did seminal work on Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) during that period of time. With Prof. Matyjaszewki, Wang published three original papers on ATRP and reverse ATRP. Wang is one of the major contributors to the birth and mechanism of ATRP. He is the first Chinese polymer chemist to discover a polymerization chemistry.
