She ran for the chairmanship of the Dutch Labour Party in 2005 and finished third.In 2001, she was embarrassed by the fact that she had hidden the rape of a 13-year-old mentally retarded girl by 14 boys from the neighbourhood and media, because most of the boys were of Moroccan descent. Later, it became known that even more sex crimes were hidden by her and the district. The affair became known as the "Tessa-case".

Anne Vondeling: was a member and former chairman of the Dutch Labour Party. He was minister in fourth Drees cabinet and vice prime minister in the Cals cabinet. Later (1972-1979) he became President of Dutch House of Representatives, in which capacity he put much emphasis on the usage of correct and clear words by the MPs. He later became member of the European Parliament. The Anne Vondeling prize is given annually to journalists who write in a clear manner concerning political subjects.

Anne De Vries: was a Dutch teacher and author. In the Netherlands he became particularly famous for his novels. He was married to Alida Gerdina van Wermeskerken, the couple had five children. In 1972, de Vries got national recognition when his novel Bartje was made into a television series by Willy van Hemert. Bartje then became the symbol of the Dutch province Drenthe.
