Osborne 'Ossie' McKenzie Fraser: was a politician in Nova Scotia, Canada. Born in Edwardsville, he was the son of Ernest Osborne Fraser from Edwardsville and Mary Kate MacKenzie from Beechmont. He was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in the 1978 provincial election and in the 1981 provincial election. He represented the electoral district of Cape Breton West and then Cape Breton The Lakes as a member of the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia until he died suddenly on October 29, 1982. Osborne Faser was also a veteran of World War II, serving in Germany, Holland, England, Africa and Belgium. He was the first recipient of the District 8 Citizen of the Year. He had one sister and was married to Mary Ruth Briscoe of Pembroke, Ontario and they had 8 children: Darlene (Kenneth) Morrison, Ruthie (Robert) Rose, Ronnie Fraser, Brian Fraser, Cathy Seale, Phillip Fraser, Bonnie Fraser and Chris Fraser.

Emily Mary Osborn: was an English painter of the Victorian era.[1][2]She was born in Essex, the eldest of nine children of a clergyman. She was educated at Dickinson's Academy in London. In 1851, at the age of seventeen, Osborn began showing her work in the annual Royal Academy exhibits, and continued to do so over a span of four decades (to 1893). She was best known for her pictures of children and her genre paintings, especially on themes of women in distress.Her most famous single work is Nameless and Friendless (1857), which has been called "The most ingenious of all Victorian widow pictures."[3] It depicts a recently bereaved woman attempting to make a living as an artist by offering a picture to a dealer, while two "swells" at the left ogle her
