Christian Simard: is a Canadian politician. A director general, political adviser and project coordinator, Simard was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the Canadian federal election, 2004. As the Bloc Québécois candidate in the riding of Beauport, in Quebec City, he defeated the Liberal candidate Dennis Dawson by over 11,000 votes. Simard was the Bloc's critic to Housing. However, in the Canadian federal election, 2006 he was defeated by the Conservative's Sylvie Boucher by less than 1000 votes.

Jean-François Simard: is a teacher and former Quebec provincial politician and Cabinet Minister. He was the a member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) for the riding of Montmorency from 1998 to 2003. Representing the Parti Québécois, he was a delegate minister for over a year in the Cabinet of Ministers of former Quebec Premier Bernard Landry. During the late 1980s, he was the vice-president of the Canadian liberal youth-wing but resign following the failure of the Meech Lake Accord in 1990. He then joined the Bloc Québécois and later the Parti Québécois where he was a political adviser for former Quebec Premier Jacques Parizeau during the 1995 Quebec referendum campaign. In 1998, he was elected as MNA for Montmorency where he was named until 2001 the Parliamentary Assistant to the State Minister of Education and Youth, François Legault. In 2002 to until the end of the PQ mandate, he was named the Delegate Minister for Environment and Water. At the same time, the PQ lost the 2003 elections to the Quebec Liberal Party and Jean Charest, Simard was defeated by Liberal Candidate Raymond Bernier. After the 2003 elections, Simard was a lecturer at Université Laval at the faculty of industrial relations. Since 2004, he is a teacher at the faculty of social sciences and social work of the Université du Québec en Outaouais where he is also an administration staff member since 2006.

Sylvain Simard: is a politician and academic based in the Canadian province of Quebec. He has represented Richelieu in the National Assembly of Quebec since 1994 and was a cabinet minister in the governments of Lucien Bouchard and Bernard Landry. Simard is a member of the Parti Québécois (PQ). Simard first became involved with the Parti Québécois as a regional organizer in the Outaouais. He was elected as the PQ's vice-president in 1981 and argued that the party's internal organization should receive more autonomy from the provincial PQ government of René Levesque. Simard was encouraged to run as a New Democratic Party candidate in the 1988 federal election, at a time when the NDP was seeking to build its support base in Quebec. He ultimately decided against running.

Raymond Simard: is a politician from Manitoba, Canada. He was a member of the Canadian House of Commons from 2002 to 2008, representing the riding of Saint Boniface for the Liberal Party of Canada. Simard was re-elected in the 2004 federal election, defeating Conservative Ken Cooper by about 6,000 votes. On July 20, 2004, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Internal Trade, Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, and Minister responsible for Official Languages with responsibility for Official Languages and Democratic Reform. In the 2006 federal election, Simard's third election in the federal riding of Saint-Boniface, Simard defeated for a second time Conservative Ken Cooper however by far fewer votes than previous years. In the same year, Simard was appointed Deputy Whip of Her Majesty's loyal opposition (Canada). Simard endorsed Michael Ignatieff in the leadership race of the Liberal Party of Canada.
