He later joined Steaua Bucuresti where he helped win the cup title in 1997. In 2000 he was bought by German team FC Energie Cottbus. In 2005 he joined Alemannia Aachen, who won promotion to the Bundesliga in his first season with the club. On July 4, 2008, it was announced he would join second-tier side 1.
