David Hay: a Scottish footballer and football manager.Davie Hay is regarded as one of the 'Celtic greats'. He signed for Celtic in 1966 and became one of the so called 'Quality Street Kids', the great Celtic reserve team that also included players such as Kenny Dalglish, Lou Macari, Danny McGrain and George Connelly, who eventually took the places of the ageing Lisbon Lions.

Arthur Hay: was a Scottish soldier and ornithologist. He was born at Yester, Gifford, East Lothian. He served as a soldier in India and the Crimea. He succeeded his father to the Marquessate in 1876. He died at Chislehurst, and was succeeded by his brother.Hay purchased a lieutenantcy in the Grenadier Guards[1] in 1841. He purchased a captaincy in 1846 and was promoted Lieutenant-Colonel without purchase in 1854 and Colonel in 1860. In 1866 he transferred to the 17th Lancers.He was president of the Zoological Society of London from January 16, 1868.[2][3] His ornithological works were published privately in 1881 by his nephew, Captain Robert George Wardlaw-Ramsay, with a memoir by Dr W. H. Russell, and the attribution Walden is used in taxonomic listings.

George Hay, 8th Marquess Of Tweeddale: was a Scottish soldier and administrator who rose to the rank of Field Marshal in the British Army.Hay was born in Bonnington, Angus in 1787, and educated at the Royal High School, Edinburgh. He succeeded his father (who had been imprisoned until his death by Napoleon in France) as Marquess of Tweeddale in 1804 and fought in the Anglo-American War of 1812 as lieutenant colonel of the 100th Regiment of Foot.
