Douglas Alan "Doug" Horner: is a Canadian politician, who represents the electoral district of Spruce Grove-Sturgeon-St. Albert in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. He was a candidate for the leadership of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party in its 2011 leadership election, placing third. He retained the position in cabinet shuffle on January 13, 2010, and was also appointed to the position of Deputy Premier. He was first elected in the 2001 provincial election. He became the province's Minister of Agriculture in 2004 under Premier Ralph Klein.
Ralph Byron Horner Origin/Culture/Country: American
Ralph Byron Horner: was a Canadian Senator, farmer, businessman and the patriarch of a Western Canadian political family. A Conservative activist and twice failed provincial candidate, Horner was appointed to the board of the Canadian National Railway by the government of R.B. Bennett in 1931. In 1933, Bennett appointed Horner to the Senate where he served for over 30 years until his death in 1964 as the Senator for Saskatchewan North. In the 1958 general election two of his sons, Jack Horner and Hugh Horner and his nephew Albert Horner were all elected to the Canadian House of Commons as Progressive Conservatives. Four Horners thus sat in Parliament simultaneously (though in different chamgers) until Ralph Horner's death in 1964. (In 1972 a third son, Norval Horner, was elected).

Robert Nesbitt Horner: was a native of Shawville, Quebec was a member of the Canadian House of Commons from 1984 to 1993. A graduate of the University of Guelph in 1964, Horner worked for 25 years in Mississauga as a veterinarian. He also served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and was a member of the RCMP Veteran's Association. He was elected in the 1984 federal election at the Mississauga North electoral district for the Progressive Conservative party. He served in the 33rd Canadian Parliament and was re-elected in the 1988 federal election to serve in the 34th Canadian Parliament under the revised boundaries of the Mississauga West electoral district. Horner chaired the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and the Solicitor General in 1989 and again in 1991. He was defeated by Carolyn Parrish of the Liberal Party in the 1993 federal election. Horner died in Mississauga at Credit Valley Hospital, aged 75.

Albert Ralph Horner: was a Saskatchewan politician, retired grain producer and livestock breeder. He was born in Shawville, Quebec. He served as a four-term Progressive Conservative MP under John Diefenbaker. After coming in third in an unsuccessful attempt to win a seat in the Canadian House of Commons in the 1957 general election, Horner won election from The Battlefords, Saskatchewan in the 1958 general election that returned a massive majority for John Diefenbaker's Progressive Conservatives. Horner was easily re-elected in three subsequent elections and served as an MP for ten years at the 1968 general election to return to private life. Horner returned to political activity almost 35 years later when he voiced his opposition to the 2003 creation of the Conservative Party of Canada through a merger of the Progressive Conservative Party and the Canadian Alliance and added his name to an unsuccessful court action to block the dissolution of the Progressive Conservatives.

Norval Alexander Horner: is a Saskatchewan politician and former member of the Canadian House of Commons. He was elected to the House of Commons in the 1972 federal election as the Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament for Battleford—Kindersley, Saskatchewan but was defeated two years later in the 1974 federal election by less than 100 votes.
