An artist, born to an Iraqi father and Irish mother.[1] She came to Britain in 1980 and attended the Byam Shaw School of Art and received a Fine Art Diploma in 1986, then she went on to the University of Westminster and was awarded a BA in Arabic in 1991, after which she attended the Royal College of Art and holds a Photography MA in 1995. Al-Ani has been exhibiting since 1987 and initially began working as a painter but then gradually moved on to new media and conceptual work.She has been awarded for her outstanding work in previous years.
