Matsudaira Sadaaki: was a Japanese daimyo of the Bakumatsu period, who was the last ruler of the Kuwana Domain. Sadaaki was the adopted heir of Matsudaira Sadamichi, the descendant of Sadatsuna, the third son of Hisamatsu Sadakutsu (1569-1623), who was Tokugawa Ieyasu's brother. His family was known as the Hisamatsu Matsudaira clan. It was to this family that Matsudaira Sadanobu also belonged.[1]

Matsudaira Ietada: was a Japanese samurai of the Sengoku period through late Azuchi-Momoyama period, who served the Tokugawa clan, and became a daimyo in 1590. Ietada was the eldest son of Matsudaira Koretada, the head of the Fukozu branch of the Matsudaira clan. Ietada served Tokugawa Ieyasu from a young age, and fought in many of Ieyasu's campaigns. Upon the latter's entry into the Kanto region in 1590, Ietada was granted the 10,000 koku fief of Oshi. Oshi had been meant for Ieyasu's fourth son Tadayoshi; however, as Tadayoshi was still young, the fief was entrusted to Ietada's stewardship. When Tadayoshi came of age, he was granted Oshi, and Ietada was moved to the Omigawa Domain in Shimosa Province. Ietada was assigned to Fushimi Castle together with Torii Mototada; the two men died in battle there, shortly before the Battle of Sekigahara.

Matsudaira Yoritaka: was a Japanese daimyo of the late Edo Period who served as daimyo of Shishido han. Retiring early, he was succeeded by his son Matsudaira Yorinori, but Yoritaka returned to headship following Yorinori's death in 1864. Though the domain was abolished following its involvement in the chaos of the Tengu-to revolt of 1864, the new Satsuma-Choshu centered government of the Meiji Emperor forgave Shishido, and allowed Yoritaka to retake his former holdings. Becoming han chiji (domainal governor) by Imperial order in 1869, he remained in that position until the abolition of the domains in 1871. After that he became a Shinto priest and was famed as a prolific writer. His son Matsudaira Yoriyasu succeeded him as family head in 1880. Yoritaka's granddaughter Natsuko (the daughter of Nagai Iwanojo, son of the famous Nagai Naoyuki), is famous as the grandmother of Mishima Yukio. Under the new system of nobility, Yoritaka became a viscount (shishaku ??).

Matsudaira Taro: was Commander-in-Chief of the Army (?????) under the Minister of the Army Katsu Kaishu, during the Bakumatsu period of Japanese history, and later became vice-president (Japanese:???) of the Republic of Ezo during the Boshin War. He was particularly in charge of Internal Affairs and Foreign Relations.

Matsudaira Yoshinaga: was the 14th head of Fukui Domain during the Late Tokugawa shogunate and politician of the Meiji era. "Yoshinaga" is his imina and "Shungaku" (??) is his go. He is counted as one of the "Four Wise Lords of the bakumatsu" (??????, Bakumatsu no Shikenko?), along with Date Munenari, Yamauchi Yodo and Shimazu Nariakira.In 1838 he succeeded as head of the domain. At Ansei Purge he was forced to retire and put on probation. In 1862 he was appointed the position of Seiji sosai shoku (??????) at Tokugawa shogunate. Yoshinaga was also Kyoto Shugoshoku very briefly, during the summer of 1864.[1]
