Yasuji Mori: was an animator who worked with Toei Animation, while it was still known as Toei Doga. He was also a famous illustrator of children's books. Mori was responsible for one of the major animation styles within Toei Animation. In The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon Mori was the first to be credited as animation director in Japan, although Akira Daikubara had the same post on The Tale of the White Serpent but was not credited as that. As a senior animator he formed many of the great animators of the next generation (including, but not limited to, Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Yasuo Otsuka, and Yoichi Kotabe). He latter left Toei Animation to work with Nippon Animation.

Yasuji Miyazaki: was a Japanese swimmer who competed at the 1932 Summer Olympics.There he won two gold medals, in the 100 m freestyle event and 4x200 m freestyle relay event. He was born in Shizuoka, Japan.

Marriage and family were among the most persistent themes in his body of work.Ozu first made a number of short comedies, before turning to more serious themes in the 1930s. His Umarete wa mita keredo ("I Was Born, But…", 1932), a comedy with serious overtones on adolescence, not only marks the beginning of this transition, but was also received by movie critics as the first notable work of social criticism in Japanese cinema, winning Ozu wide acclaim.

Yasujiro Tsutsumi: was a Japanese entrepreneur, politician, and legendary business tycoon who founded a dynasty which became the wealthiest, most influential family of 20th century Japan.Yasujiro Tsutsumi was born on 16 March 1889 in the rural farming village of Yagiso, Shiga Prefecture. The Tsutsumi family were held in great respect and regard, serving as village elders and headmen. However, little is known about their antecedents or origins, and there is no evidence that the traditional extended family unit ever existed in their case. Yasujiro's father, Yujiro, died of typhoid fever in 1893, when Yasujiro was four, also leaving his wife, Miwo, and a daughter, Fusako, who had been born in 1891. Following his father's premature death, Yasujiro's mother left to return to her family, never to be heard from again,

Yasujiro Niwa     Yasujiro Niwa       Origin/Culture/Country: Japanese

Yasujiro Niwa: was a Japanese electrical scientist. In the 1920s, he invented a simple device for phototelegraphic transmission through cable and later via radio, a precursor to mechanical television. He later became the Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tokyo University. He was awarded the Order of Cultural Merits and the Order of Merit of the First Class.
