Sikh Baby Names
Sikh name has three parts, a given name, a surname and a Khalsa name. Khlasa name is given, when a Sikh becomes Khalsa. Normally, men are given "Singh" as the Khalsa name, which means lion and women are given "Kaur" as Khalsa name, which means princess. These names represent the strong parity of Sikh religion. Now, people can keep the surname with Khalsa name or remove the surname after acquiring the Khalsa name. For example, Ratan Barar can become Ratan Singh or Ratan Singh Barar. Sikhs normally have a number of given names, and all of them have meanings. Sikh names are non-gender specific, which means a name can be used for male or female both. For example, Parkash can be the name of a female and a male, both. However, there is a gender tone attached, while pronouncing the names, like Parakaso for female and Parakasu for Male.
