Costas Montis: was an influential and prolific Cypriot poet, novelist, and playwright. After graduating from the Pancyprian Gymnasium, Costas Montis studied law at the University of Athens, but in 1937 on his return to Cyprus (then under British rule) he could not work as a lawyer because his degree was Greek.
