William John 'Billy' Kirton: was a footballer in the early years of professional football in England, who played over 200 games for Aston Villa.Kirton was born in Newcastle upon Tyne. Kirton was a member of the Temperance Society and played for Pandon Temperance before joining Leeds City in May 1919. After only playing one game for the club he was transferred to Aston Villa for £500 in October 1919.

John Kirton: was a footballer who played in the Football League for Bradford City and Stoke City. He made two hundred and nineteen appearances for Stoke. Kirton joined Stoke in 1936 when he came from Scotland. He became a key player in Bob McGrory's side and went on to spend sixteen years at the Victoria Ground playing for Stoke during the war. He left in 1953 to join Bradford. Kirton died in 1996 aged 80.
