Chatur Lal: was an Indian tabla player. He toured with Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan in the 1950s and popularized the tabla in Western countries.[1]He was the first tabla player to gain international fame. A German disciple, Dr. Heimo Rau, called him the incarnation of the god of music who opened to the listener a fourth dimension of experience beyond time and space.

Mohan Lal: was a traveller, diplomat, and author. He played a central role in the First Anglo-Afghan War of 1838–1842. His biography of Dost Mohammad Khan, emir of Kabul, is a primary source on the War.His wife Hyderi Begum was a Muslim and a scholar. During the Indian Mutiny in 1857, she maintained a day book recording vividly the happenings and events in Delhi. Her diary was later seized and confiscated by the British government.

He has had a spectacularly successful and exemplary archaeological career spanning more than half-a-century. He was trained in excavation by the veteran archaeologist, Wheeler at Taxila, Harappa and other famous sites in the forties of the last century. Out of his many pupils Wheeler chose Lal to entrust the excavation of the Early Historic site of Sisupalgarh in Orissa before relinquishing the charge of the Director-General of Archaeology in India in 1947.

Kishori Saran Lal: was an Indian historian. He wrote many historical books, mainly on medieval India. Many of his books, such as History of the Khaljis and Twilight of the Sultanate, are regarded as standard works.[1][2][3]He obtained his Master's degree in 1941 at the University of Allahabad. In 1945 he obtained his D.Phil. with a dissertation on the history of the Khaljis. This dissertation formed the basis for his book History of the Khaljis.
