Inoue Kaoru: was a Japanese statesman and a member of the Meiji oligarchy that ruled Japan during the Meiji period (1868–1912).Born Yakichi (??) to a lower-ranked samurai family in Hagi, Choshu Domain (present day Yamaguchi Prefecture), Inoue attended the Meirinkan Domain school with his brother Ikutaro (???). He was a close boyhood friend of Ito Hirobumi who later became Japan's first prime minister, and he played an active part in the sonno joi movement. In 1858, he studied rangaku, artillery and swordsmanship in Edo.

Inoue Kowashi: was a statesman in Meiji period Japan.Inoue was born into a samurai family in Higo Province (present-day Kumamoto Prefecture), as the third son of Karo Iida Gongobei. In 1866 Kowashi was adopted by Inoue Shigesaburo, another retainer of the Nagaoka daimyo. Known as a highly intelligent child, Inoue entered the domain's Confucian academy, eventually becoming one of the academy's resident students. He fought on the imperial side in the Boshin War to overthrow the Tokugawa bakufu.

She moved to the United States in 1996 at the urging of her father, who had been diagnosed with lung cancer. In 1998, Inoue was diagnosed with cancer. It was detected early, and after six months of chemotherapy, she was cancer-free.

He proposed a changed numbering that made him the eleventh head (rather than tenth), by including Doseki at the head of the list.At various times he was known as Hattori Rittetsu, Inoue Ansetsu, Intetsu, Gen(n)an Inseki, Inoue Genan Inseki. A talented player at the highest level, but unlucky in practical terms, he cuts a romantic figure even at this distance. He was involved in one of the most famous games, the game against Honinbo Shusaku containing the 'ear-reddening move'.

Shinji Inoue: a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Chiyoda, Tokyo and graduate of the University of Tokyo, he joined the Ministry of Construction in 1994, which later became part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. While in the ministry, he received a master's degree from the University of Cambridge in England. Leaving the ministry in 2003, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in the same year.
